I saw on the news this AM a newscast on Starbucks Coffee is closing 600 stores in the near future. This company did have very rapid growth in the past and now they are seeing a decline. Their stocks have shown a drop. They are trying to recover from their rapid growth. They foresee that they will open different stores in 2009, but will be searching out a more lucrative market.

The product of Starbucks really isn't a failure, but you can look at each individual store as its own product, which then those stores that are closing (if they are not meeting profit/revenue goals) are an example product failure.
I disagree with new marketing teacher I've done with Starbucks coffee in the restaurants and private sectors their coffee is too high a price . The only thing they have going for their coffee is they have a real good freeze drive formula for their coffee with the costs will continue to be their downfall . segment of the use of a rags to riches story on the contrary is rich is to rags
